Rock Geometry

This body of work began shortly after I moved to North Cornwall in 2018 and is inspired by, and builds on, many elements from the local landscape. Of primary visual importance here are the very angular and geometric rock formations visible along the cliffs near Delabole, an area famous for its slate quarrying. 
 

Development

The visual experiments below outline my processes using various media, from identifying and abstracting visual elements in the landscape, to combining and juxtaposing these in various ways to achieve the more consolidated works on canvas.
