January has been a busy month in my teaching world with organising field trips, writing moderation reports and numerous assessments. I have had little or no time to get into my art pod. Instead, I've managed to gather some photographic reference material during my ramblings around the lanes. They are just snaps taken with my iPhone which I find to be my best camera because it is the one that I always have with me!
Taking snaps, really encourages me to stop and look and to notice interesting forms and compositions. I do favour the use of black and white for this reason because of the emphasises on form and structure which for me are important starting points for new work. I can go on to introduce colour into the work at a later point if necessary.
I think it is really worth sharing these images in a blog post. They are quite exciting in their own right and help to demonstrate where the source of my inspiration comes from.
