Marrying the Elements

I've been playing around with juxtaposing elements in an attempt to successfully "marry" my drawing, painting & mark making. Frustratingly the essence and energy of my mixed media drawings and mini "speed" paintings has so far been lost when I attempt to develop them further "as paintings." Collaging a selection of minis onto a drawing has worked in bringing the two elements together and has given me a "feel" for what I'm hoping to achieve. My intention is to now work up a painting from this in an attempt the marry all of the elements.
