Whilst out for a walk a couple of weekends ago around the narrow Cornish lanes I spotted a small piece of mirror glass (probably from a car wing mirror) shining up at me from the bank...
I spent a few moments exploring this material with my iPhone camera. It felt important to just leave the glass in place as a found object and not manipulate or contrive the situation in any way.
Being awake to my life and surroundings and making art from direct experience is central to my artistic practise and what drives my creativity.
This image does really encapsulate my thoughts about this - about my place as an artist in the landscape. It makes and excellent self portrait so I thought I would share it in a blog post!
