Practice makes perfect and although this poured paint effect might appear simple there are actually many nuances involved and a big margin for error which can potentially lead to huge amounts of wasted paint - particularly when working on a larger scale. Because it's been several weeks (again) since I've worked in this way I felt it would be a good idea to start really small (A5 approx) on paper.
It is also useful to work small scale to try out different ground colours etc before committing my choice of palette to something much bigger.
Practice aside I'm really pleased with how these "miniatures' have turned out and I've learned a lot more about the process as a result. This will really help me when I begin to scale things up.
